Doowii Acceptable Use Policy

This Doowii Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs all access to and use of the Doowii Platform, analytics tools, APIs, AI-powered features, and related systems (collectively, the “Platform”). This AUP is incorporated by reference into the Doowii Platform Terms of Service (“Terms”), https://www.doowii.io/terms-of-service, and, where applicable, any Master Subscription Agreement (“MSA”) between Doowii, Inc. (“Doowii”) and the subscribing institution (“Customer”).
By accessing or using the Platform, you (“End User”) agree to comply with this AUP. Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination of access or other remedies available under the Terms or applicable law.
In the event of any conflict between this AUP and an applicable MSA or the Doowii Platform Terms of Service, the terms of the MSA shall control as between Doowii and Customer, followed by the Terms, and then this AUP. For clarity, this AUP imposes additional obligations on End Users and does not limit or reduce any obligations under the MSA or the Terms.
1. Purpose
- This AUP promotes responsible use of the Platform, protects the confidentiality of educational data, and ensures compliance with legal, contractual, and institutional requirements.
2. Authorized Use
- You may access and use the Platform solely:
- For Customer’s internal educational, administrative, research, or operational purposes;
- In accordance with this AUP, the Terms, the MSA (if applicable), Customer’s internal policies, and all applicable laws.
3. End User Responsibilities
- You agree to use the Platform responsibly and ethically. Without limiting any other obligations in this AUP, you specifically agree to the following terms.
4. Responsible Sharing of Content
- The Platform may permit you to upload, generate, or share data, reports, notes, queries, outputs, or other content you create or contribute (“Your Content”). You agree:
- To think carefully before sharing Your Content with others;
- To ensure any content you share complies with FERPA,local, state, and federal privacy laws, analogous student data and privacy laws, and Customer policies;
- Not to share confidential, sensitive, or personally identifiable information (“PII”) unless permitted by Customer;
- Not to misuse the Platform or encourage others to do so.
- No Rights Granted in the Platform. This AUP does not grant you any right, title, or interest in:
- The Platform;
- Any Doowii intellectual property;
- Or any content, data, or materials belonging to others.
- Feedback. If you provide ideas, suggestions, or feedback regarding the Platform or related services (“Feedback”), you acknowledge that:
- Doowii may use, incorporate, or act upon Feedback without restriction;
- Doowii has no obligation to compensate or acknowledge you;
- Feedback is not confidential unless covered under an existing written agreement.
5. Prohibited Conduct
- You may not engage in any activity described below. These prohibitions apply whether performed directly, indirectly, knowingly, or negligently, and whether you assist others in doing so.
- Unauthorized Access & Credential Misuse. You may not:
- Access or attempt to access any data or systems without authorization;
- Share, sell, loan, transfer, or sublicense login credentials;
- Impersonate another user or misrepresent your identity;
- Bypass authentication or access controls.
- Misuse of Educational Data. You may not:
- Access or disclose educational records or PII for unauthorized purposes;
- Export, download, store, or redistribute data in violation of Customer policy;
- Use data or predictions to make high-stakes decisions without proper review;
- Profile or evaluate students in violation of applicable laws or policies.
- System Interference, Abuse, or Security Violations. You may not:
- Interfere with, disrupt, degrade, or overload Platform performance;
- Introduce malware, ransomware, viruses, or harmful code;
- Probe, scan, or test system vulnerabilities;
- Use automated tools to scrape, extract, or mine data.
- Improper Use of AI Features. AI-powered capabilities, including predictive analytics, natural language queries, text-to-SQL generation, automated explanations and summaries, and AI agents or automated workflows (collectively, “AI Features”), are governed by the Terms. Without limiting the Terms, you may not:
- Treat AI outputs as authoritative or binding without appropriate human verification and review;
- Use AI Features as the sole basis for academic, disciplinary, or other high-stakes educational decisions about any student or staff member;
- Use AI Features in discriminatory, harmful, or unlawful ways, including in violation of anti-discrimination or student-protection laws;
- Use AI agents or automated workflows to circumvent Customer’s data-access, role-based access control, or approval processes;
- Misrepresent AI-generated material as human-authored evaluations or determinations.
- Reverse Engineering & Platform Misuse. You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or analyze underlying code or models;
- Create derivative works that replicate Platform functionality;
- Misuse APIs for bulk extraction or competitive analysis.
- Harassment, Harm, or Unlawful Conduct. You may not:
- Upload or transmit defamatory, harassing, threatening, or harmful content;
- Use the Platform to discriminate or target individuals or groups;
- Engage in any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive activity.
6. External Websites & Links
- The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, resources, or services not under Doowii’s control. You acknowledge and agree:
- Doowii is not responsible for third-party websites or their content;
- Inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement;
- You access third-party websites at your own risk;
- Third-party terms and privacy policies apply independently of Doowii.
7. APIs and Integrations
- When using any Doowii API:
- API keys must be protected as confidential credentials;
- You must comply with rate limits and technical restrictions;
- You may not store or cache data in violation of Customer policies;
- You may not reverse engineer or replicate API functionality.
8. Data Security Responsibilities
- You must:
- Protect all data accessed through the Platform with reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards that meet or exceed Customer’s internal security requirements and applicable law (including, where applicable, FERPA and analogous local, state, and federal student privacy laws);
- Avoid transferring personally identifiable information (“PII”) to personal devices or external systems without proper authorization under Customer policies;
- Promptly report suspected security incidents, data misuse, or unauthorized access to Customer and, where appropriate, to Doowii at legal@doowii.io.
9. Monitoring and Enforcement
- Doowii may:
- Monitor usage for compliance and security;
- Investigate suspected violations;
- Notify Customer of concerns;
- Suspend or terminate access for violations or security risks;
- Take legal action where appropriate.
10. Consequences of Violations
- Possible consequences include:
- Warning or remediation requirements;
- Suspension or termination of individual access;
- Institution-level escalation;
- Legal action or recovery of damages.
- Customer remains responsible for its End Users’ compliance.
11. Updates to this AUP
- Doowii may update this AUP from time to time. Updated versions become effective upon posting unless otherwise required by an applicable MSA. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
- This AUP is governed by the same governing law and dispute resolution provisions that apply under the applicable MSA or, if no MSA exists, under the Doowii Platform Terms of Service between Doowii and Customer. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this AUP shall be resolved in accordance with those provisions.
